Who we are

The Council of Logistics Engineering Professional (CLEP) operates this website as a service to our members, and to the logistics community as a whole. CLEP is a registered 501(c) 3 non-profit organization. Our mission is to promote proficiency in the field of logistics engineering through educational and professional development opportunities, and provide an unmatched resource for logistics knowledge.

What personal data we collect and why we collect it

CLEP collects different types of personal data including names, email addresses, mailing addresses, and occupational data. We collect this data to provide services to our paying members. Some personal data is required for the purposes of supporting registration records. Other data is used to support professional networking among our members.

Who we share your data with

CLEP does not sell or share you data with any third-party organizations for marketing purposes.

How we use your data

Your data is not used by any third-party organization other than for the purposes of preventing spam, bots, or other forms of malicious activity. CLEP may use your data for internal marketing purposes as means of improving and targeting services to our members.

Email Subscriptions

All CLEP members are automatically enrolled in our email list at the time of registration as a benefit of membership. CLEP does periodically send out emails to our members and colleagues in the defense logistics industry. You may unsubscribe from our email list at any time by using the “unsubscribe” link at the bottom of each email. Non-members may opt-in to our email list, and opt-out as desired.

Comments

Visitor comments may be checked through an automated spam detection service. When visitors leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.

Profile Page Data

The data you provide in your user profile page is saved on this site. It is only shared with other registered members of CLEP through the Membership Directory. The membership directory itself is only accessible to other registered CLEP members. Providing data in your profile is voluntary. Any data you do not wish to share should not be entered in your profile.

Media

If you upload images to the website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website.

Cookies

This site does not collect cookies. We do not save any data other than what you provide for user registration.

Embedded content from other websites

Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.

These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content, including tracking your interaction with the embedded content if you have an account and are logged in to that website.

How long we retain your data

If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.

For users that register on our website, we also store the personal data they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal data at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that data.

What rights you have over your data

If you have an account on this site, or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.

How we protect your data

CLEP maintains standard website security through internal security protocols and through our web hosting company. Should CLEP identify a security breach that may expose members data, all members will be notified immediately.
